Volunteer Appraisers and Officials support CALDI tournaments and help foster the future!
What Does a CALDI Tournament Official Do?
Officials support teams and Appraisers throughout the tournament to make it the best experience possible for students exhibiting their creativity!
Officials are Volunteers that work a shift during the Tournaments. Every Region has their own way of identifying the shift and job Officials will be assigned. Check with your Region for assignment requirements.
EVERY Official MUST register through MyCALDI ►
What Does a CALDI Tournament Appraiser Do?
To ensure teams are scored fairly, we require each team to provide a Volunteer Appraiser for tournament day. Teams who do not provide a volunteer will not be scored at the Tournament and may not move on to the State Tournament. The Appraiser will need to be available for this role all day so there is consistent scoring. The teams, have worked too hard not to be appraised fairly, and we can not run a Tournament without trained Appraisers!
Each volunteer appraiser will be trained for a specific role and help with a specific Challenge. Volunteers might score teams, introduce teams to the audience, process team paperwork, help in the score room, or usher teams to their sites.
MUST attend all required training in their Region.
MUST be at least 18 years old.
MUST no longer be in high school.
MUST be available the entire time on Tournament day (7am-5pm).
Appraisers WILL NOT be able to watch the team that they volunteer for.
Teams MUST take a Trained and Experienced Appraiser to State if their team moves on.
This is a full day commitment. Your day will start early in the morning. It will end when your Challenge site is finished and is cleared by the score room. You will not be able to see any other performances other than those you are appraising.
